The UP Fighting Maroons had their 2-week basketball training in Las Vegas, USA. It was funded by the UP Alumni Association and other sponsors.
Their head coach Aboy Castro was proud to say that their training in the Joe Abunassar Impact Training Basketball Camp made them closer and stronger as a team. It was revealed that their training program included focusing on the individual player's "comprehensive basketball-specific strength, flexibility, movement, agility, and speed training while seamlessly integrating on-court basketball skill instruction."
They have five rookies this year that definitely perform well. Castro observed that they have good chemistry and can really make great scores together with the Maroon veterans. They even had the chance to play a game with the Kentucky cagers during their US training.
So altogether, they are trying to say that they can change their 3-11 win-loss fate last season into 11 wins and 3 losses in the upcoming Season 73 of the UAAP.
Place your bets, everyone. College basketball is back!
