But seriously? Of all the problems in our country, our lawmakers even have the time to pay attention to planking?
Everybody's reacting negatively on this. Whether you agree or disagree, I think Quezon City Congressman Winston Castelo is insane to pass a bill against planking.
To clear things out, this bill does not disapprove of planking altogether. It intends to just prevent planking during rallies, protests, and strikes. But shouldn't Castelo and the other lawmakers be focusing on the causes of the rallies, protests, and strikes rather than what the militants do to express themselves?
I mean, there are a lot of serious issues that need to be resolved. Why insist on this concern about planking?
Yes, this bill is so thoughtful of Castelo to be thinking about the welfare of the plankers and their effect to the traffic situation, but what about poverty? Hunger? Lack of quality education? Lack of local jobs? Never-ending increase in prices of petroleum products and other commodities? Political anomalies? Unresolved massacre cases? What about these things and other important matters?
Oh well, I don't know what to do anymore if this Anti-Planking Act of 2011 is passed. I don't call it stupidity, but insanity. And I might want to disappear and teleport to a different place when that happens.
We Filipinos are known to be intelligent people. Let's just stick to that, shall we?
