Everyone wishes that a bad vibe (BV) would self-destruct after a few minutes. But unfortunately, it will not. BVs "can and will" take over you if you just sit there and do nothing.
Good thing, there are ways to prevent BVs from forming and eventually eat you alive. Plus, you can transform them into a good vibe (GV).
Here are the "mind techniques" that will destroy the negative thoughts (from LifeMax's The Power of the Mind):
1.) AMPUTATION
Immediately, stop thinking the negative thought. Just cut it off -- amputate it! Think of something completely different to replace the negative -- preferably something of a brighter, sunnier, more uplifting nature.
2.) SUBSTITUTION
Focus on the negative thought for a short moment only, then substitute it for the exact positive opposite thought. Swapping sad thoughts with happy ones and bad thoughts with good ones is substitution.
3.) EXAGGERATION
Dwell on the negative thought, then exaggerate it beyond all realms of belief. Mentally go to the extreme of visualizing the negative as so huge that it appears ludicrous and becomes comical. This will totally drain the negative thought of all its power.
** One vital point to accept is that a negative thought only has power over you when you react to it. Once you develop the ability to ignore all aspects of a negative thought, then it loses its strength and dies.
